Similar to gardens at grade, green roof plants are more successful when established in the early stages of growth. Seed mixtures provide roofs with a beautiful mix of textures, colors, and planting periods for visual interest year round. These plants typically attract birds, butterflies, and insects. Compared to mats and plug plants, seed mixtures are very cost effective and easy to apply. When selecting plants, Diadem not only considers habits of each species, but its resistance to damage by wind, frost, and sun.

This a mix is typically applied to extensive green roofs and has a high percentage of herbaceous plant species. Beyond durability, these plants add a diverse range of colors, forms, and textures to green roof mainly based on Sedum species. Meadowfoam is the primary component of this mix, adding fireworks to the wildflower display in the spring and fall. With over 80% of the mix consisting of wildflowers and forbs, this mix does extremely well in poor, shallow green roof soils. Very drought tolerant and little need for synthetic fertilizer makes this mix is an excellent re-seeder.
