070. Product Description

The DiaSafe systems are safety-line fall protection systems which ensure the safety of staff working at heights, without penetrating the roofing or requiring structural attachments. The DiaSafe system can be installed on roofs with up to a 5° slope, and the fall protection system uses rock ballast or the greenroof system (minimum 16.5 lbs/sf) to secure each anchor point. The system has been tested by TÜV, Europe’s leading safety validation organisation, and DiaSafe functions in both fall restraint and fall arrest scenarios. DiaSafe conforms to the most recent standard, EN 795:2012, when used with personal protection equipment that meets standards EN 355 and EN 365.

080. Application

When using DiaSafe-Line-System "Multi", the carabiner of the lanyard is always connected to the steel cable - never directly to the post - allowing freedom of movement for users as the carabiner may move freely between posts without disconnecting and reconnecting the lanyard. This system is able to protect the safety of multiple users at a time, as long as only one person is attached to every second section (one section between two users must be left unused).

090. Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is it necessary to have a certified contractor install the system?
Yes, the installation must be completed by a certified DiaSafe® installers, and only they are authorised to issue the certificate of operation for the system. This ensures the quality of the installation, and long-term safety for users.
  • Is it necessary to fix the system to the roof structure?
No, the DiaSafe-System requires no penetrations or structural attachments. The stability of the system is maintained by counterweight ballasting at each anchor point sufficient to restrain or arrest users from falling. The roof is not penetrated in any way, nor are thermal bridges created.
  • Can the system be used again after a fall incident?
Yes, but the system will need to be evaluated by a certified DiaSafe inspector, any damaged components replaced, and the system re-certified by the inspector before it may be used again.
  • What kind of materials are used to ballast the system?
Ballast material for the DiaSafe system may include growing media/greenroof system, gravel, concrete slabs, or pavers. If other ballast materials are desired, please contact the manufacturer for approval first.
